Explore our website for beautiful, one-of-a-kind baskets, handmade by members of the Batwa pygmy tribe in southwest Uganda, East Africa.

Each basket takes up to a week to create. They are made with local grasses and other natural materials, using traditional African techniques.

BatwaBaskets was founded in 2007 to help the Batwa people who were displaced from the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. All proceeds from basket sales directly support the Batwa Development Program, a project of the Kellermann Foundation, a US-based humanitarian aid organization.
