Welcome to BatwaBaskets! |
At BatwaBaskets, you will find beautiful, one-of-a-kind baskets, all handmade by members of the Batwa pygmy tribe in southwest Uganda, East Africa. Each basket takes up to a week to create. They are made with natural, local grasses and reeds, with no dyes, using traditional African techniques. BatwaBaskets was founded to assist the Batwa who live near the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. All proceeds from basket sales directly support the Batwa Development Program, a project of the Kellermann Foundation, a US-based humanitarian aid organization focused on southern Uganda. |
BatwaBaskets is a nonprofit ministry of The Church of the Epiphany in Richardson, Texas |
